Holiday home Danube Boilers

The location of the holiday home project in Eşelnița made the process of shaping the concept, interior design and execution very easy, as the natural landscape – one of the most spectacular in Romania – was the main inspiration.

The slope of the land, situated on the banks of the Danube - at Clisura, contributed to the functional layout across two levels - ground floor and first floor. The location on the bank and the opening towards nature generated the natural gesture of opacity towards the road and access, and a complete opening towards the terraces and the river, pontoon, and swimming pool.

The natural functional separation, between the living and sleeping areas, came about organically – the ground floor being the public area – with a generous living space for all family members, a semi-open kitchen connected to the dining area and a generous terrace, the thinking being for a simple, clean space for spending precious time, peaceful time with family.

A series of spaces that blur the boundaries between interior and exterior make for easy circulation through the house, bringing a host of resort-like elements that further enhance the escapism of days spent in the holiday home, such as the connection of the pool, the covered outdoor shower with the ground floor bathroom and level-access shower.

On the upper level, where direct and independent access from the lower level is possible, a series of bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms open onto the Danube, offering spectacular sunrise views.

The master bedroom, a double, boasts spectacular details, such as a free-standing bath for chilly autumn evenings, as well as a secluded corner for reading or a desk, from which any email becomes a pleasure to view.

The holiday home on the banks of the Danube couldn't be complete without a special boat garage, as well as a generous deck with an „infinity” pool that merges with the water and mountains on the horizon, making immersion in nature a complete experience.
