The Târgoviște Educational Campus

Based on the design brief developed from the client's requirements, the proposal is to construct a multifunctional building comprising a kindergarten, a primary and secondary school (years 0-8), a gymnasium, sports fields/courtyard, and complementary external landscaping.

The development proposed in Târgovişte is based on a unified, phased proposal which, upon implementation, will generate a multifunctional complex with educational functions, comprising: a school with 6 classrooms, 3 laboratories, a secretariat, director's office, administrator's office, and technical office, sanitary facilities conforming to the Ministry of Health's order, administrative spaces, a library, as well as temporary accommodation for staff and volunteers.

The educational complex will also feature facilities for physical activities, including a sports hall of approximately 600.00 m², differentiated playgrounds for children – play areas for kindergarten and outdoor recreation spaces for school-aged children, a football pitch, a car park, as well as a cultivated orchard and spaces for private gardens. The need for food preparation from own sources was an explicit request from the beneficiary and investor, in accordance with current provisions for Green School certifications.

Within the analysed site, an existing building will be refunctionalised as a nursery, with a built area of approximately 400.00 m², which will house the nursery's administrative spaces, two group rooms, as well as early education rooms.

The proposed kindergarten will feature an office, dining hall, consulting room and isolation room, an office space for teaching staff, and the area for educational spaces will be organised into activity group rooms, as well as sleeping areas, served by changing rooms and sanitary facilities.

In the design process of the educational complex in Târgoviște, childhood play with volumes and the playful drawings of future users were the basis of the concept.
